Works with Siri
Dinner Answers You Can Ask For
Your hands are full at dinnertime. It’s Dinnertime works with Siri, the Action Button and your iPhone camera, so you can get answers and add to the list without opening the app.
It’s free, and most of it works in the beta today. Anything marked Next update comes with the next beta build.
Hear Tonight’s Dinner Without Opening the App Free
It’s 5:10, you’re on the way home, and you can’t remember what you planned. Ask Siri:
What’s for dinner tonight in Dinnertime
Siri answers from the week you planned, out loud, and the app stays closed. Ask about the week and it reads the plan back to you, night by night.
What’s for dinner this week in Dinnertime
Next update Siri also shows tonight’s dinner on a small card, with how long it takes and buttons to Start cooking or Make it easy. If your calendar is turned on in It’s Dinnertime, Siri adds the evening’s event too, like “Something on at 5:30 pm, Gymnastics.”
Nothing planned yet? Siri says so: “Nothing planned for tonight.”
One Press for the Grocery List Free
You reach for the bread and the bag is empty. Before you forget, press the Action Button.
- Press. The button asks what should go on the list.
- Say it or type it. “Bread.”
- Done. It lands on your grocery list in Reminders, and the app never opens. Add up to five things in a row.
Have a list for each store? It asks which one, or uses the last list you picked. You choose in the app under Settings, Action Button and Siri.
Rather say it all at once? Siri takes the item in the same sentence:
Add bread to my grocery list in Dinnertime
The Action Button is on iPhone 15 Pro and newer. On any iPhone, the same thing works by asking Siri.
Point Your Camera at the Fridge Free
Standing in front of the fridge with no plan is the worst part of the night. Open visual intelligence on your iPhone, point it at the shelves and pick It’s Dinnertime.
It shows this week’s planned dinners and your saved recipes that use what it sees, with the planned ones first when it’s close. Tap one to open it. If nothing fits, tap “Make something new from this” and it writes a recipe from what’s in there.
The photo is read on your phone and never saved or sent anywhere.
Needs an iPhone with Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro and newer). Open visual intelligence the way your iPhone does: the Camera, the Camera Control held down, the Action Button set to Visual Intelligence, or the Visual Intelligence control in Control Center. Then pick Dinnertime.
Everything You Can Say
Every one of these is free. Say them as written; Siri needs the “in Dinnertime” at the end.

What You Need
- An iPhone on iOS 26 or later, with Siri turned on.
- The Action Button is on iPhone 15 Pro and newer.
- Visual intelligence needs an iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on.
- Siri knows the app as Dinnertime, so phrases end “in Dinnertime”.
- You don’t set anything up. The phrases work as soon as It’s Dinnertime is installed.
It All Stays on Your Phone
Siri, the Action Button and search all answer from the plan, the recipes and the list already on your iPhone. Nothing you say to them is sent to us. The fridge photo is read on the phone and thrown away. Your calendar is only read if you turned it on in It’s Dinnertime, and only to say what’s on tonight.
